a Pentium Mobile P4 2ghz laptop with a 128 bit ultra AGP 3D graphics engine with motion compensation support (whatever that means) using 8MB shared memory is up to the job of letting me start to learn to program directx9 in vb.net?
Since your vid card has only 8MB of memory I'm assuming its fairly old (or just low-end) and won't support many DX9 features (such as custom shaders) in hardware. But not to worry, because DX includes a software emulator, it will just give bad performance, but will still allow you to run and play with your code.
