Creating/deploying webapplication

Hi,

Is it possible to create a webapplication directly in the root of te webserver (so without a virtualdirectory)?

Or how can I make it so that when people come to http://<site> they will go to the defaultwebapplication? (can this only be done by a redirect page?)

PS... I'm using VS.NET to create webapplications!

You can go to IIS to change your root directory setting from 'wwwroot' to 'wwwroot/<site>'

That's not an option, because I cannot control IIS on this server

I found a simple solution for it, I create a project (like _root) and when it is ok, I copy it to my root directory.
