CMOS Barcode Scanner and Free 39 Barcordes issues

Hi,

I have a CMOS Barcode reader for 2D barcodes essencially but it reads also 1D barcodes and with my Code 39 Barcode i can't get the right data, because when i have % or $ or / the barcode reader shows the escape characters corresponding to those charaters i mentioned.
My barcodes are generated by a free code 39 font.

I've had to use a asterix before.
