Checking for MDX framework in vb.net

hi..
can we check using vb.net if managed directx framework is installed on the system.. i needed to check before i load my form with DirectX graphics otherwise it thows an unhandled exception saying framework not found.. how can i catch this exception..?
any suggestions would be great..
