ASP.net webservice

ASP.NET Webservice, simple question..

this just crossed my mind, if I decide to build an webservice, will I be able to communicate with this service with for e.g. php?

That's the one of the main selling points for a web service architecture - you are not locking clients into any one language / vendor / implementation.
