I know that the owner doesn't care about this place and I doubt anyone will do anything, but, here goes. Is this place closed permanently or did you do an upgrade and forget to turn the forum back on? This site as well as the visual basic site are both closed. If this was done to close the sites a closing note would have been nice. There are still loyal staff and users on both sites that visit everyday. If this is the end then so be it. All good things get ruined at some point and then end abruptly. I guess this is what happened here.

I don't know if any of the owners actually visit this site. I have been trying to contact them by email and they keep bouncing back. In any event I am posting this here in case the owner see's this. I am the original owner of this site as well as xtremevbtalk. I don't know if you're interested or not, but, I am interested in buying this site. I would appreciate it if the owner would contact me via PM to discuss this. You can also email me at robert@schwarz.comcastbiz.net I look forward to hearing from you.

I already said Hello on your Leaders' Board, but I wanted to make sure that I was seen. If you're looking to get in touch with the site owners or suggest some site changes, throw a PM or email my way.

Hi Guys, I just wanted to touch base to see if your needs are being met and if there are any major concerns. I'd like to start a better dialog between you and ownership. I know we've been pretty quiet since we've taken ownership of the site. We've pretty much let everything remain status quo. Please feel free to PM me or respond in this thread. You guys know this site the best and we'd like to encourage you to contribute to it's growth.

Just wondering if anyone at INet has had chance to investigate the bug mentioned in this post as it does make the cs code blocks ugly and difficult to cut and paste.

Given that 3.6 is pretty much nearing the end of it's support (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268829) are there any plans to upgrade to the 3.7 version soon?

Problem(s) with the ads inserted into older threads... http://www.xtremedotnettalk.com/showthread.php?t=101396 has the details. Is there any chance the adverts could be moved above or preferably below the posts as it makes the code etc. much harder to read and therefore the forum much less useful.

This forum is for programmers who want to post code. We used to have it so that code blocks had syntax highlighting, much like the php code blocks that are native to vBulletin. There have been many threads posted about getting the colors back, but nothing's happened yet. I'm not a vBulletin "guy", but I can program. I'm willing to read whatever manual I can to figure this out but I'm not even sure I'm able. Here's an old thread by Bob: http://xtremedotnettalk.com/showthread.php?t=84374 In it, he mentions making changes to some php files and needing ftp access. That worries me because I don't have access to either. Is there anyone at iNet that can get me started …

I noticed that we are on vBulletin 3.0.1 while 3.5.x has come and gone and now they are at 3.6.x. Are there any plans to get us up to date, or are we forever stuck in the stone age? Not that it's a big deal, but vB 3.5.x introduced some very interesting features.

A user just brought up the fact that searching by words that are too large won't work - they get excluded. For example, searching for ICustomTypeDescriptor is 21, which goes beyond the 20 char maximum. I see the note about setting this number to be larger and how it may make the database size grow. Could we increase it to 25 anyhoo? I don't know how to check the stats to see how much bigger the index may grow with a max of 25 vs 20, but I wouldn't guess it's too big. There aren't a lot of keywords that would need to be this big, but in programming people sometimes have pretty long names. If I haven't heard anything by Monday (8/21/2006), I'll go ahead and make th…

Please see this thread: http://www.xtremedotnettalk.com/showthread.php?t=95656 We need to strenghten the leadership here and to do that I have proposed some changes outlined in the above thread. What I didn't mention is the iNet admins. Most haven't logged in for a while and I would like to remove the ones that either are no longer with the company or don't help in keeping the server running. Maybe you could remove the ones that have no interest in maintaining the site.

Thought I'd start a thread on suggestions for changes. Maybe a first pass "todo" list for someone. Not sure who that is, see other thread :) 0. Fixing the code tags. A solution/discussion exsts in this post. 1. The sidebar is now updated (no longer showing April dates), which is better. How about lowering the number of items to something closer to 20 or less? It looks to be around 30 right now and it goes farther down than the forums? 2. The sidebar seems highly geared toward news, and Macromedia Flash at that. Two bad things there: these are .NET forums (Microsoft product, no flash forums) and the label is "Programming Tips" but the links are all news related. …

This post has still not been addressed. There is a link on item 0 to fix the CS tags but nothing has been done and it's been at least 6 months. I plan on posting a message here every day until I get some kind of response. This specific forum was meant to get your attention, was it not? The last post in regards to the above thread was posted over a week ago and still no response. If you value your "support" staff here, please help us do our job and fix these tags. -nerseus P.S. I tried contacting iNet via email (from their main website's "contact us" link) as well, but haven't heard anything.
